As players, we have no objection to exploring a global we simply cannot significantly influence. This almost all the overall game happens in the development experience, and the individuality of one's avatar. Comparisons with Tomb Raider are in reality off here, because the depth of puzzles and progress is a lot more shallow than the adventures of Ms Croft, with the overall game barely stopping short of marking where to go with a big neon sign.
