Boktai 2: Solar Boy Django (Game Boy Advance) - Description
Game Ratings
Boktai 2 enhances the revolutionary gameplay experience of using sunlight to play your game. Continuing the vampire hunting adventures of Django the Solar Boy, players will once again explore the world of Boktai with over 60 new sunlight-powered weapons, a larger game environment, and even deadlier enemies!
In this "solar action RPG," dark immortals haved turned San Miguel into a land of death. The strongest vampire hunter, Django's dad, has been killed. The people have lost hope. Enter Django, the Solar Boy.
Armed with the Gun del Sol, Django journeys to avenge his father's death and bring the sun back to the world. To help him, you'll need to bring our sun to the Game Pak.
The Boktai 2: Solar Boy Django Game Pak is equipped with a built-in solar sensor. With a dose of sunlight, the game's solar meter fills up. With the sun's influence, Django can fill his Energy meter at will instead of having to use items or recharge at specific points in the game. You also need the sun's assistance when you need to "purify" some enemy bosses. If there's no sunlight, you'll need to find a way to fill Django's Energy meter or continue the game later. Before starting play, the game asks you to set the date, time and your location. At key points, Boktai 2: Solar Boy Django tells you how much time remains until sundown.
The solar-sensor novelty aside, Boktai 2: Solar Boy Django stands as a strong RPG. You'll find an compelling story backed by plenty of twists and puzzles for you to solve. This time around, Django's darker adventures -- no pun intended -- have earned the game a Teen rating, compared to an E rating for the first Boktai. Often, Django needs to use stealth instead of unsheathing the sword. The strong supporting characters include Master Otenko, who guides you through the cities.
