WII Samba de Amigo - Wii Remote Addon

You didn't expect Sambo de Amigo for Wii to be released without some kind of add-on, now did you? You guessed it right: Macaras!

SEGA brings back the Dreamcast classic Samba De Amigo on Wii, we already knew that. The Dreamcast classic once helped to create the now-popular rhythm music genre using macaras as controllers. Created exclusively for Wii, this vibrant and addictive new game lets players shake to the beats of a samba-infused soundtrack comprised of popular new songs as well as fan-favourites from the original game.

Now online reseller HMV revealed the (not-final) package for the upcoming game. For a price of 50 euros, gamers get the game and two macaras add-ons for a Wii Remote.

  • What's the point? It's hardly a simulation. Seems like a bit of a waste of money just for some plastic things you're only going to use once or twice before the novelty wears off. But the game itself looks like good fun.

  • I wanted this game for my Dreamcast, but it was too much expensive and rare to find even at the time of release here in Europe. Glad to see a port for the Wii. If this news is true, i will buy the maracas shells too just for the fun.

  • well, I can imagine that the macaras add a little weight and feel to the shake (perhaps added the sound by putting in some rice or alike?)

  • Well, as long as they aren't charging extra for them by making it a £40+ retail price.

  • it's a 40 quid package. HMV sells it for 35, while Game claims a price of 30 (although they're not listing the extra's yet).

  • Let's hope they don't put the same attachment onto DS...
