The first augmented reality title for Nintendo DSi has been announced: Storm City Entertainment's System Flaw will turn your real-life surroundings into the playing environment.
Storm City Entertainment and Enjoy Gaming today announced plans for System Flaw, a Nintendo DSi exclusive game created for play on Nintendo DSi interactive gaming system. The game, seemingly an augmented reality title, makes full use of the Nintendo DSi Camera as a process of the gameplay and is scheduled for a nationwide launch on October 27, 2009.
"System Flaw is an innovative action shooter that uses the Nintendo DSi Camera to turn your surroundings into the playing environment and your Nintendo DSi into a weapon against attacking enemies," said Steve Newton, President of Storm City Entertainment. "It's a totally unique and physical experience that takes handheld gaming to a new level."
Developed by Visual Impact and managed by Enjoy Gaming, System Flaw features 100 levels of gameplay that will have users gyrating wildly as they battle enemies that seem to appear out of the real-time environment of the game player.
"It's a unique take on portable excitement," noted Paul Tresise, President of Enjoy Gaming. "With 360 degrees of optical flow, and motion technology that has not been utilized yet in handheld gaming, System Flaw is a revolutionary gaming experience that we are very proud of."
Features:
- 360 Optical flow/ motion detection technology
- 100 scripted levels
- One button game play
- 10 unique creatures

Really nice first try. The game seem a bit shallow, I also feel the artwork can use a bit of detail. As a DSi Ware this game would be great, as a full game I don't think I would get it.
