Shaun White goes Skateboarding
Instead of snowboarding, Ubisoft decided to put Shaun White back on his skateboard and create a brand new game about it: Shaun White Skateboarding.
The skateboarding-game market is up for a new contestant, as after EA's Skate! and Activision's Tony Hawk-series, Ubisoft today announced the creation of Shaun White Skateboarding, a video game in development with dual-sport professional athlete and two-time Olympic gold medalist, Shaun White. Developed by Ubisoft Montreal, Shaun White Skateboarding will arrive this holiday 2010.
As the first skateboarding game in the best-selling Shaun White video game franchise, Shaun White Skateboarding will provide an innovative twist and fresh take on the skateboarding and action-sports genre.
"I can't describe how excited I am about the skateboard game," said Shaun White. "We've been working on it for a while now and it's ready to melt minds."
The first athlete to win both gold medals in skateboarding and snowboarding at the Summer and Winter X Games, Shaun White brings a unique perspective to development of video games.
"As we've just seen at the Olympics, Shaun is a one-of-kind action sports athlete," said Tony Key, U.S. senior vice president of sales and marketing at Ubisoft. "Shaun's enthusiasm for skateboarding shines through in this truly unique game."

Really, Shaun White Skateboarding only has one competitor in the Skate franchise. Tony Hawk has been really bad lately with Ride, from what I've heard from friends who've played it, being pretty bad.
Other games planned: Sonic Goes Shopping, Mario Goes House Hunting and Spongebob Squarepants Does DIY.
