WII Introducing Earth Seeker

Developed by Crafts & Meisters, a studio formed back in 2004 by Noritaka Funamizu and Katsuhiro Sudo. The developers are now back with a new and unique all original action title- Earth Seeker.

This week Japanese magazine Famitsu showed off some concept art and a bit of new information for the newly announced title.

Speaking to Famitsu, Funamizu talked about Earth Seeker, commenting that it is set in a "post-apocalyptic Earth" while giving some background to the title. "All the world's human heritage gets packed into a spaceship and evacuated off the planet, but the spaceship crashes into another planet and its cargo gets scattered all over the place. The ship's main computer is trying to recreate Earth's ecosystem on this planet, but the crash has affected it and it's producing all this messed-up plant and animal life instead, which is hugely impacting the land."

The game kicks off 1000 years after the crash, and the wackiness doesn't end there. There is a mysterious race called the Guardians who lived in the world before the humans came. They stole the technology and used it to advance themselves, but are quite hostile because of how their world is been destroyed from the computers program. Unsurprisingly however, is they are quite fond of the Alcoholic beverages humans had with them- so if you pass a few bottles of the "Happy Juice" there way, then the Guardians will help you.

There is however no overseas release date or publisher planned at this stage, with Sudo finding it easier to concentrate on the Japanese market. Telling Famitsu that the foreign market is none of their concerns when developing the title. "There are gamers worldwide, of course, and making games to meet their needs certainly isn't a bad thing, but I feel like we're throwing out too many Japanese values and the uniqueness of our games along the way. A lot of Japanese kids don't even play games these days, right? I want to teach them again that games are a lot of fun, just like how our parents taught us when we were kids."

The title is produced alongside with Enterbrain and is set to release in Winter by Kadokawa Games. The game is currently ~60% done.
