The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword - Facts and Screenshots

The long awaited reveal of the next title in the critically acclaimed The Legend of Zelda series happened earlier today at Nintendo's E3 Press Conference. And we have the first information and screenshots to go along with that announcement.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword represents the first true Zelda game to be developed specifically for the Wii. With this being the case, Nintendo have taken it upon themselves to make sure the marks a turning point for the series and the game does just take. Being fully compatible with the Motion Plus accessory, this new game gives gamers an unprecedented level of control over character Link and offers the most intuitive controls seen in a Zelda game to date.

With new items, including a beetle which can be thrown and piloted to pick up items and a whip, as well as new gameplay mechanics and a new visual style, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword aims to provide a fresh take on the series.

Nintendo have announced that the game will launch in 2011 so until then, stay tuned to DS-x2 for more news on this up and coming new epic as it becomes available.
