Metroid: Other M - New Trailer and Info
With only a few weeks until the game is released worldwide, Nintendo is cranking up with hype meter for Metroid: Other M with a new trailer and some new info.
Set for release on August 31st in North America, September 2nd in Japan and September 3rd in Europe, the hype surrounding the Team Ninja developed Nintendo property is beginning to reach boiling point as many gamers eagerly anticipate what could be one of the biggest game releases of this year on any console. To help continue the hype train, Nintendo have released a new Story trailer which, although in Japanese, gives you a look at some of the gameplay mechanics new to the franchise this time around.
Running alongside this, however, is a recent interview done by famed Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu with Nintendo's Yoshio Sakamoto and Team Ninja's Yosuke Hayashi where they reveal the new Theater mode included in the game:
"There's a 'theater mode' that lets you view all of the cutscenes linked together seamlessly as a single movie,. We placed just as much weight on enjoying the story as we did on the action aspects of this game, but it's hard to fully communicate a storyline in a video game with just one playthrough. At the same time, though, it's asking a lot of players to beat the game twice to get it all, so that's where the idea for that mode came from. It lets you make a lot of discoveries, things you missed or dialogue that makes more sense in retrospect. I hope it helps people understand the story better." - Sakamoto
The movie available to watch in the Theater mode is approximately two hours in length, divided in to chapter like most modern film releases, and will contain pre-recorded gameplay footage to blend story elements with key moments in the game.
