Pokemon Black and White Smash Japanese Sales Record
Having gone on late last week, and having garnered over 1.5 million pre-orders, the latest Pokemon titles, Pokemon Black and White, have smashed the previous Japanese sales record.
After months of anticipation, the Japanese launch of Pokon Black Version and Pokon White Version video games for the Nintendo DS are living up to high expectations, becoming the fastest selling DS games ever in Japan over the first week of sales, The Pokon Company International announced today. Following a record-breaking presale that saw 1.88 million units sold in Japan, initial sales over the first week of the games' launch have totaled 2.55 million amidst much fanfare and excitement.
Pokon Black Version and Pokon White Version introduce a generation of never-before-seen Pokon characters featured in a thrilling new storyline set in a brand new region. Immediate sales show no signs of slowing, and with a launch in North America and Europe set for spring 2011, Pokon Black Version and Pokon White Version video games are on pace to becoming the best selling in the Pokon franchise's history.
