The Last Story Japanese release date

At their Fall Conference today, Nintendo finally announced the release date for Hironobu Sakaguchi and Mistwalker's new Wii exclusive RPG, The Last Story, in Japan.

The Last Story is the latest game from the original creator of the Final Fantasy series, Hironobu Sakaguchi. While previously having been slated for release in Japan in 2010, it has now been revealed that the game will only just miss that mark and will now be out in that territory on January 27th>.

The game, which is said to have been in development for a considerable amount of time, represents one of the many development partnerships that Nintendo has going on to bring new IPs to their consoles. The game is an action RPG taking elements from various game types and blending them to create an exciting and unique gameplay style unseen in an RPG until now.

No mention of a North American or European release date has been mentioned, although Sakaguchi himself has mentioned news on a Western release would come towards the end of the year.
