NDS Kingdom Hearts Re:coded Gets European Release Date

Having only just been released a short time ago in its native Japan, Square Enix have today announced the European release date for the next entry in the Kingdom Hearts series, Kingdom Hearts Re:coded.

Square Enix Ltd., the publisher of SQUARE ENIX interactive entertainment products in Europe and other PAL territories, today announces KINGDOM HEARTS Re:coded will be released across PAL territories on the 14th January 2011 exclusively for the Nintendo DS system.

Larry Sparks, Vice President Brands PAL Region of Square Enix Ltd. comments, "The KINGDOM HEARTS series goes from strength to strength and Re:coded is another smash hit with an intriguing mystery to solve and plenty of fun along the way." With Sora's journey in Kingdom Hearts II having drawn to a close, an all new tale is about to begin. Jiminy Cricket is looking over the journal he used to document his first adventure with Sora when he discovers a mysterious message. He didn't write it - so how did it get there? King Mickey is determined to find out, so he and his friends decide to digitise the journal and delve into its deepest secrets. Inside this "datascape" dwells a second Sora who is about to embark on a grand adventure of his very own.

Set after the conclusion of Kingdom Hearts II, Kingdom Hearts Re:coded offers an exciting new adventure as you revisit events and characters from the previous Kingdom Hearts games in order to solve the mystery discovered by Jiminy Cricket. With new game mechanics, a variety of different play systems and a custom avatar system, Kingdom Hearts Re:coded looks set to be another colourful and fun-filled Kingdom Hearts adventure.

  • Really wasn't expecting a release date that soon. So excited though. Love the Kingdom Hearts franchise and while I know some people have been looking down on this (and the 358/2 Days game) I'm very excited to have some new KH to play come the new year.
