Need for Speed: The Run Gamelay Details

Racing specialists Firebrand Games have recently updated their website to include so new information regarding the forthcoming Need for Speed: The Run and it's certainly got us excited.

It the latest update the developers talk about their latest game for EA's best selling series and say:

"Firebrand's third product in the massive Need for Speed series also marks both the Glasgow Studio's first entry into the franchise and the first Firebrand title developed for Nintendo 3DS. The game features a unique parallel storyline to the HD versions of The Run told in 3D motion comic form."

"Featuring a fusion of classic Need for Speed gameplay with an epic race across the USA, both the Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Wii games feature over 200 miles of track and 40 supercars to drive. The 3DS game also includes Local and Online racing and the first handheld version of Need for Speed's incredibly addictive Autolog system- battle your friends across 40 Challenges- who can complete The Run in the fastest time?"

So the game will have an on-line feature after all. Something that has been sadly lacking in 3DS racers in the past. So, could this be the ultimate racer for the system? What do you think?
