Nintendo reports red figures
We already knew it was coming, but Nintendo today reported reduced losses for its first financial quarter. Sales went up quite a lot actually.
In keeping with previous forecasts made in April 2012, Nintendo Co., Ltd. today reported reduced losses for its first financial quarter, ended June 30, 2012. No revisions were made to the previously announced annual financial or unit sales forecasts.
Top-line results for the quarter as compared to a year ago were as follows (in millions of yen):

Compared to the quarter a year earlier, global sales of Nintendo 3DS handheld game hardware increased 162%, while Nintendo 3DS software rose 63%. In addition, the company announced that as of July 25, 2012, it was no longer selling Nintendo 3DS hardware below manufacturing costs.
