TERMINATORS: THE VIDEO GAME Coming to Consoles
After a long wait 'The Terminator' will be returing to the big screen very soon and Reef Entertainment has acquired the reghts to produce a video game based on the sci-fi franchise. There's no mention of platforms just yet but we'd expect at least one Nintendo console to be supported.
UK video game publisher Reef Entertainment is very proud to announce it has acquired, from Studiocanal, the exclusive console video game rights for legendary motion-picture 'The Terminator' and the console and PC video game rights for its sequel 'Terminator 2: Judgment Day'.
Reef will create brand new video games based on the sought-after licenses entitled: 'TERMINATORS: THE VIDEO GAME'.
A Reef spokesperson said: 'Here at Reef we are huge fans of 1984 & 1991 Sci-Fi action master-pieces. It's an incredible opportunity and an equally huge responsibility to create a game that does great justice to the motion-pictures. We are studying all aspects and influences of the Terminator universe defined in Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day. We have started on our journey and are drawing on all the diverse materials available to produce a high quality, authentic and exciting Terminator video game.'
'The Terminator' was released in 1984 and is widely regarded as a science-fiction classic, launching a beloved franchise that has been expanded in a variety of media and further movies. A humanoid cyborg from a future dominated by machines is sent back in time to kill the mother of the as-yet-unborn rebel leader John Connor. Meanwhile, the rebels also select an agent to travel back in time and stop the Terminator, thereby ensuring that events follow their pre-ordained course.
'Terminator 2: Judgment Day' was released in 1991 and is arguably the finest movie of its kind. Continuing the tale, T2 remains at heart a classic science fiction tale: featuring robots running amok, time travel paradoxes and dystopian future worlds. Opening to huge fanfare, T2 went on to become one of the highest-grossing and most culturally iconic science fiction motion-pictures of all time.
