Namco has announced two new Nintendo DS titles: Baten Kaitos DS and Xenosaga DS. Apart from the announcement no further details were released, however we can inform you about the original games...

The story of Baten Kaitos (GameCube) takes place at a time when lands exist in the sky. It is an era in which the once-vast oceans have become mere legend among men. This is the world in which Kalas and Xelha meet: A world in crisis, where a conspiracy for power may lead to its destruction. Players will control a spirit that guides and advises Kalas throughout his journey and fights by his side. Over 1000 types of "Magnus" cards deliver an intense battle system combined with breathtaking graphics and a world overflowing with character detail. Enter Baten Kaitos on a journey to unlock the mystery of the lost sea in an enchanting story of friendship, betrayal, and prayer.

Xenosaga (PS2) is also a futuristic game: Thousands of years in the future, humanity exists only in deep space. Locked in brutal conflict with a merciless alien race, humanity faces an uncertain destiny as it struggles to unlock the very secrets of the universe and search for the ultimate truth.

Although we don't know whether or not the DS version will be straight ports of the original console versions, based upon them or completely new games, we do know that these are two big titles showing Namco's support for the Nintendo DS.
