NDS Nintendo DS Tunneling Project Pays Off

Team XLink, known for their tunneling software for the GameCube, XBox and PS2 tried to tunnel the Nintendo DS. And they're succeeding...

Less than 2 weeks after the official Nintendo DS release in the US, the coders of Team XLink claim to have successfully tunneled PictoChat. XLink points out that even though the results look promising, there is still a lot of work to do to increase compatibility amongst different PC's and games.

Tunneling makes it possible for players to connect their Nintendo DS (or GameCube for example) to their PC. Specially designed software (freely available by when XLink releases it) will allow you to play a distant friend who has also connected his Nintendo DS. Until Nintendo's own WiFi connection is fully explained and put to use, tunneling may be the bext solution for multiplaying.

  • Good news, i'm still waiting to see what Warp Pipe Technologies have up their sleave with their DemaSked project. Still this is good news, as long as they port it to Mac quicker than their Kai version which took months (unlike Warp Pipe where as they only took a day to get it on the Mac after the PC release) Just my $0.02
