Soul Calibur DS - Continued
Again, Soul Calibur DS is rumoured. This time in a Latin-American magazine...
Club Nintendo, a Latin-American magazine, reports to have received an announcement of Soul Calibur DS from Namco. The game is said to be a remake of the original Soul Calibur and to surpass all characteristics of that version, including the graphics and audio. Apart from this, an option to execute special movements using the touchscreen will be featured as well (we suspect it to be as seen in Spider-Man 2 for the NDS).
The magazine also states that gamers should not expect Link to be included in this version of Soul Calibur, since Namco does not wish to see the history be altered.
Update Chewie pointed out that the magazine doesn't say that the game will include an option to execute special movements using the touchscreen, but that it will include that option by touching a button instead.
Back in September 2004, Nintendo-Evolved already spoke about a possible Soul Calibur for the Nintendo DS, as can be read here.

Well, I must make some corrections. First, that info comes in the last month issue (december), and second, the magazine is "Club Nintendo" only, not "Club Nintendo Extra", the word "Extra" is the name of the section. Another thing: the magazine doesnt say that the game will include an option to execute special movements using the touchscreen, it says that it will include that option but touching a button, not the touchscreen. Well, that's all ;)
The translation I got from some Spanish bloke said 'touchscreen'... Problems with foreign languages eh? ;)
Man, I live in Mexico, my natural language is spanish ;)
like I said: could be an error by the other guy :)
As much faith as I have in the DS, I'll believe this when I see it. A Soul Calibur game is possible and would kick all kinds of ass, but saying it'll look and sound like it's Dreamcast counterpart is making quite a stretch.
Hurrah
It says arcade version, or? The arcade version looked worse.
