SSX Fo(u)r Nintendo DS
The latest edition of Game Informer magazine revealed that SSX 4 is heading to our dual-screen handheld.
According to our colleagues at Games Are Fun, the latest edition of Game Informer magazine revealed the first details on the snowboarding game SSX 4. According to the magazine, the game is set for a release on PS2, XBox, GameCube, PSP and... the Nintendo DS.
The first details given in the magazine are probably for the console and/or PSP version of the game (more about that below): - The game focusses on speed, with 'Burnout 3'-type speed & blur effects. All courses are designed with this idea in mind. - Apart from the snowboarding, players will get the opportunity to put throw in some skiing as well. Doing so, you can do "Monster Tricks" that snowboarders can't (and probably can't do certain tricks snowboarders can). - You'll get the oh-so-popular create-a-character option.
The reason I believe the details above, or at least part of them, are aimed at the non-Nintendo DS version is because I recently received unofficial word from an EA employee, that games like Burnout 3 are highly unlikely to ever see the light on the dual-screen. The reason for this is that EA believes that the strenghts of this game lies in the speed, something the Nintendo DS can not guarantee according to our source. Nonetheless, fact is that SSX 4 is heading for the Nintendo DS.
