Dragonball Z: Supersonic Warriors 2 Heading For Europe

We already knew it was coming, and everyone expected Dragonball Z: Supersonic Warriors 2 to hit Europe eventually as well, but Atari makes it official.

Atari has announced the forthcoming release of Bandai's Dragonball Z: Supersonic Warriors 2 for the Nintendo DS. The sequel to last year's top-selling Dragonball Z: Supersonic Warriors for the GameBoy Advance, Dragonball Z: Supersonic Warriors 2 is the first game from the franchise to be released for Nintendo's new handheld video game system and takes the interactive Dragon Ball fighting experience to new heights of handheld gameplay.

With advanced graphics making use of 3D polygon effects and the two screen functionality of the Nintendo DS, Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic Warriors 2 uses the power of the new hardware to great effect to create the ultimate evolution of the flying battle. Packed with an enhanced battle system, original moves, new characters, massively powered up team battles, hidden content, wireless multiplayer functionality, and expanded story mode with branching storylines, the game packs a mean punch sure to invigorate fans of the franchise and Nintendo DS owners who want a fight worthy of their skills and the console.

The two screens come into play during combination moves where adversaries can be sent hurtling the full length of both screens to their demise, and also during a Special Attack cut-in when the lower screen displays the top image as seen through a scouter, faithfully recreating a popular effect recognized by fans of the series. Wireless multiplayer gameplay allows two Nintendo DS owners to go head-to-head for one of the most central and exhilarating aspects of any Dragon Ball fighting game.

Dragonball Z: Supersonic Warriors 2 for Nintendo DS is scheduled to for release across Europe in Q1 2006.
