Updated: Super Monkey Ball DS Announced

DS owners will go ape, because Sega has announced Super Monkey Ball for the Nintendo DS. Update:A few juicy details about this dual screened monkey romp.

Sega Japan has stated that they've been developing Super Monkey Ball for the Nintendo DS. While we do not possess any details yet apart from the suggested releaseterm (December 2005 for Japan), we do know that many gamers will be delighted reading this news.

As expected, movement will be with the touch screen, similair to Pac n' Roll, you move the stylus on the screen in the direction you want to go.

The game will also have over 100 stages, some from the GC/XBOX/PS2 versions, and some entirely new. There is also 6 party games, 2 of which will be 4 player wireless. There is currently a hockey game known, and the 'Monkey Race' from classic SMB titles where competitors race to get to the finish. The top screen is used for a map on this mode. This will be controlled with the more traditional D-Pad as percise control isn't required. It is currently 60% complete!

  I was waiting for someone to post this news here. Someone on GAF reported this but gave no link... is there any specific place where this came from? Also on his list was a game from Taito, "Lost Magic" with no publisher, and the ever-so-mysterious Iron Feather.
