Final Fantasy IV Goes GBA
The GameBoy Advance will get a 'new' Final Fantasy game in a few months time: Final Fantasy IV.
Nintendo of America has announced that they are planning to release a new Final Fantasy game on the GBA before the end of this year. Final Fantasy IV will be a remake of the SNES' Final Fantasy II. The reason for the change in numbers? The US' Final Fantasy II was originally released in Japan as Final Fantasy IV.
The GBA version of this classic adventure includes 18 towns and castles, dozens of magical spells and hundreds of monsters, weapons and items to help players on their quests. The game features the astounding music, challenging adventures and interesting storyline that are the hallmarks of the Final Fantasy franchise. Additional game elements also have been added to enhance the Game Boy Advance version.
Players can expect 30 to 40 hours of playing time as they journey on land, on sea and in the air, and explore new towns, caves and mountains in their attempt to recover stolen crystals. Twelve different characters with new abilities, spells and items join and leave the party at different parts of the quest to keep the game fresh.
The game is set for a US release on December 12th, 2005.

Opinion is a stupid word that means that the person with an "opinion" about something doesn't really know all there is to know to be able to talk reliably and believably about the thing he or she is talking about. =P For example, let's say there's a dude who likes FF6 because it has a much better story, characters and music compared to "FF"8. I mean, who the fuck doesn't like a good story or great melodies in music? =D What kind of a person is that? "No, I like this game better. Yea, the music is a lot worse than in this other game, the story is pretty dull and there's a lot of frustrating and annoying stuff that this other game doesn't have in it... But hell, this game got more realistic-looking environments and people plus there are cool explosions! I LOVE IT!"... If there was such a guy, almost everyone would just consider him to be real dumb. =P
Final Fantasy 6 and Chrono Trigger are still two of the best games I've ever played in my life, and believe me, I've played a LOT of games. =P I've played FF6 to the end for 3 times and CT 4 times, I think. Sometimes I feel like the other on might be just a liiiiittle better than the other one, sometimes the other way around. Anyway, couldn't agree more with Lesomeguy...
But still, so far no RPG can top the story and emotion of Final Fantasy VI (there was a competition between FF VI and Chrono Trigger, I believe FF VI won by a few votes).
Wow, now i´m impressed =) Okay, I realy understand you :) But I know many people who´re like FF8 and I realy love it.. even the Soundtrack is one of my favourite ones, but most tracks aren´t above "okay" when you listening to the Midi-Versions in the game.. I started to love many of the tracks after listening to the Orchestral-Versions. And I realy love the Battle-Theme ;) Yes, the battles felt a little differend from other Finals (but not bad in my opinion) and every Charakter has the same abilitys only depending on the Guardian Forces.. thats why the Game-System sucks (in my opinion ;) ) But I love the Story, the Charakters (exept Selphi maybe ;) ) and all the Citys and Places felt so nice.. its the only FF where I love and remember EVERY single place :D I was a little disapointed by Final Fantasy X, becaus i´ve bout a PS2 only for this single game.. FFX was ok, but not as good as most other Final Fantasys.. there where some realy great things in the game but not enough for my taste.. but the Sphereboard rocks ^_^ .. FF X-2 is something you should deny and forget its existence ;) Havent played it through, maybe it gets better after a while, but the first hours just are unbelievable crap (in my opionion ;D ) By the way: Yes, I enjoyed the Legend games xD But I was very very young and never played games like these before ^^ Got them on emu about one year ago just for nostalgic reasons and i thougt "woah, thats crap" ;) ..compared with other old gameboy-games it may be ok, but compared to the real Final Fantasy Games or other GBA/DS-RPGs its nothing anyone should play. I only had a C64 and Gameboy back then, so it was the most complex game I´ve ever played ;)
Finally a good GBA game announced!
Yea, umm... I'm sorry for being that rude, I just remember being so mad at the game because it felt nothing like a Final Fantasy game and I had waited for a new Final Fantasy for a few years... I still played it all the way to the end, only once, though. I've also played almost all the Final Fantasy games at least once through, as well as many other Square RPGs and other RPGs and yadda yadda yadda... But yeah, propably the main reason why I was so disappointed at the game was because I had waited a Final Fantasy game and what I got was this "directed more at a western audience" type of game where the game didn't start in action like the Final Fantasy games should because that makes it feel like a Final Fantasy game, the battle music melody didn't start as it should've been started, I was really happy when I bought FF9 and noticed that they had corrected it, the battles didn't feel like Final Fantasy, the characters didn't feel like it, the card game felt like it didn't belong there... Plus FF8 was the first in the series where the sountrack REALLY went wrong. There were only about 3 or 4 really good melodies on the sountrack. There was a slight drop in the soundtrack from the SNES games to FF7 but when FF8 arrived the "wackness" of Uematsu's new production was one of the biggest shocks for me too. By the way, you really enjoyed the Legend games? =P ...'Cuz I didn't. And Adventure wasn't really a Final Fantasy game, it was Seiken Densetsu. Final Fantasy X, the game whose name always reminds me of a porn movie title, was again closer to the style of FF8 so I wouldn't even consider buying X2. I could just go on writing about stupid shit like this but I think I'll watch the new Naruto episode now.
...beautiful... Since FF 1 + 2, 3, and 4 are on release list, hoping FF 6, the best FF, will make it in the near future.
Finally i'll get to finish it. I hate playing it on an EMU.
Yeah "ignore every opinion if it doesn´t fit my own opinion" sounds farmiliar xD Sad. I played every FF exept FF 3 so I realy know what I´m talking about ;) I´ve also played most of the FF-Offspins if you realy want to know (Tactics, Legend, Adventure and so on). The only real crappy Final Fantasy was X-2 (in my opinion) and the best one ever was FF6. I accept if you didn´t like FF8, but I realy think you haven´t played it long enough or you just didn´t understand the Story because in FF8 you have to think about the Story and Charakters to realy understand them. For example I realy disliked Squall for about half of the game and always thougt "what a stupid guy".. hadn´t much sympathy for him until I understood his way of thinking and why he´s doing things the way he does.. and Lagunas story is one of the best Final-Fantasy Storys ever (in my opinion ;) ) well but who am I talking to xD Your last comment (if its realy meant serious, what I dont hope for) speaks for itself. Thanks Cowboy, by the way =)
Is Cloud a symbol of the Final Fantasy games now?
j-fox, it's his opinion. sildorian backing it up, so he has his reasons. If you don't agree, get over it. :P
Everything that could have possibly gone wrong went real wrong in "Final Fantasy 8", anyone who knows even something about anything knows that. =P I don't want and I don't even think I need to say anything more about it. Anyone who knows, knows. It's that simple. =| I just try to forget that such a "game" even exists.
Final Fantasy 8 was second best Final Fantasy right after FF6, that my opinion :P Don´t know what you expect in a Final Fantasy Game but FF8 got everything an FF need. The game-system (draw/junction) realy sucked, but if that is what you´re looking at then go and play Grandia 2 or other games with lame story and stupid charakters ;) Final Fantasy can´t be called just "video-game", its more like art :) There are much RPGs with better game-systems than EVERY Final Fantasy out there, but they dont have such great storys and dont feel artistically like FFs do. ..if you´re talking about story and stuff and still say "FF8 sucks" then I think you haven´t played it long or deeply enough ;) Thats what I think :P Sorry for "Off Topic" by the way *duck* ;)
i hope soon after this we get FFVII, they should do like a multiple cartridge thing like they did on the ps with multiples CD's
Don't call Final Fantasy just "Final", looks real stupid. =P ...And Final Fantasy 8 was so much worse than any other Final Fantasy game. ...And it was so different too, it could have been called something completely different and no one would've noticed if they just took the chocobos and moogles out. =P
Final Fantasy VII, I think it was. Came up first with the google-image search :P I'm at work, so couldn't take the time to actually find a nice picture.
Stunning News! :D Final 4 is the third-best Final Fantasy in my opinion (after 6 and 8) and I realy hope they will enhance the graphics, caus the original isn´t much above NES-Gaphic :/ I hope the will remake it as well es Final 1&2 :) Hey, how about the whole Final-Series für DS? :) We already have Final 1&2 on GBA, 4 will be released soon and Final 3 is in development for DS.. well, the DS schould be capeable to run even Final 7-9 in enhanced versions (dont forget that video-compression made some serious steps the last years and the screen is smaler so in MAY be possible to get all the CGIs onto a DS-Cartrige).. Well... just imagin: Final 1-9 in your pocket *just dreaming* ;)
