NOA Announces Q1 2006 First Party Titles
Nintendo of America has announced their Q1 line-up. Head inside for the release date of Metroid Prime Hunters.
Following Nintendo of Europe's Q1 2006 line-up, Nintendo of America threw in a list of their first party titles set for a release during the first three months of 2006.
The Nintendo DS will see four titles from Nintendo during Q1: On January 9th, Electroplankton will be released. Make beautiful music (or total chaotic noise) with this artistic tune generator. Ten different modes keep the music humming in endless combinations.
Two weeks after that (January 23), Nintendo takes a swing with True Swing Golf (or: Touch Golf: Birdie Challenge for the European crowd). Players swipe the touch screen to stroke the most realistic golf swings ever possible. Just like out on the links, if your swing is off, you'll find yourself in the rough.
Nearing the end of February (Feb. 27 to be exact), it's girl-power with Super Princess Peach. After kidnapping Peach for years and years, Bowser finally wised up and kidnapped Mario instead. Now it's Peach to the rescue, pink parasol and all.
And for the grand finale, on March 20, Nintendo will release the WiFi enabled Metroid Prime Hunters. Grab the stylus and start shooting everything that's moving in the Metroid world.
But we're still not there yet. Nintendo is still supporting the second pillar of it's products: the GameBoy Advance (or SP or GameBoy Micro). On February 6, Pokon developer Game Freaks' Drill Dozer. In this game, you'll pilot a destructive Drill Dozer robot to recover a stolen red diamond. Players demolish everything in their path. What could be more fun?
And last, but certainly not least... We had already seen this title in NOE's release list... On March 6, America will get to see the English version of Tales of Phantasia. In this classic RPG with a real-time battle system, players take on the role of Cress, a young swordsman who must set out on a fantastic quest when his village is destroyed in mysterious circumstances.
On a sidenote, Nintendo would also like to inform all US residents that a retro version of its GameBoy Micro comes to the US on November 28, honoring the 20th anniversary of the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). The new GameBoy Micro base unit will be maroon with a gold NES-inspired faceplate, and will sell at an suggested retail price of $99.99. It also will come packed with a $10 coupon that can be used toward the purchase of select Nintendo-published GameBoy Advance games.
