Animal Crossing: Wild World - Movie

Nintendo of Japan has updated the Animal Crossing: Wild World minisite and added a movie of the game. Update Localization problems with Animal Crossing: Wild World?

Update Localization problems with Animal Crossing: Wild World? According to a member of the Gaming Age Forums, the Japanese Nintendo WiFi Connection website brings bad news. As his translation brings, players of the Japanese and US versions of the game will not be able to visit each other's town.

It remains unknown whether this problem occurs by the version of the game used (Japanese, European, America, etc) causing problems with the holidays, or due to the character-set used within the game (Japanese characters versus our own). In the latter case, gamers from Europe and America will most likely still be able to connect.

  Aw, I hope the localisation problems aren't true, I was looking forward to hooking up Animal Crossing with people when I go back to Japan next year.. :( (I suppose I could always just buy a second a copy..)

  I'm pretty sure that I heard somewhere that it's characters. I read it somewhere, and it said that you wouldn't be able to play with those who don't have the same letter system as you. So, yeah, 75% positive that it's the letters.

  I saw this video that said holidays would be Animal Crossing specific and not related to a certain area's real-world holidays, so that wouldn't be an issue. Does anyone know anyone from Japan anyway? Cuz don't you have to do that Friend Code? I can't think of any reason (besides daft-apeth) to connect to Japanese players...

  I'd say it was more to do with the language barrier than anything. I don't mind if i can't play with my british brethrin, as long as i can play it online, i'll be ok.
