Flipper Critters - Website Opened

The official website for Flipper Critters on the Nintendo DS has been opened up.

Launched today, www.flippercritters.com has been created by the game's designers to give fans a chance to see more of the colorful and crazy world inhabited by the Flipper Critters, as well as the critters themselves.

The Flipper Critters site gives visitors the chance to meet the most unlikely bunch of creatures ever to be featured in a videogame. Meet Gawain 'Tiger' Chesterton, our hero (who is actually a tiger) and Bubba 'Monkey' McManus, professional sidekick and banana fan, (who isn't actually a tiger). Or how about Miranda, the agoraphobic, untidy sorceress of Mirandel Castle? Visitors can also find out why bulls really should be kept away from lace lingerie and why porcupine balloon salesmen tend to suffer from stress and depression.

In addition www.flippercritters.com gives visitors a chance to see a new range of screenshots showing the exotic locations and environments within the game. Fans can take a sneak peek at several of the secret mini arcade games, which Tiger and Monkey face as they adventure through the critter's world as well as an exclusive movie of the game in action.

Flipper Critters offers a fully 3 dimensional, original new gameplay experience based on classic pinball. Unlike most games, which take place on small, closed tables, Flipper Critters pinball takes place on a much bigger scale. Villages, mountain tops and even the surface of the moon become pinball tables; challenging players to hit houses, bridges and landmarks, instead of the more normal bumpers, ramps and switches. In addition, Flipper Critters also offers a number of mini arcade-style games, which players must complete in order to progress through the critter's world. Areas, missions and goals can be accessed in any order, making a game of Flipper Critters different for each player.

Designed and created specifically for the Nintendo DS handheld console, Flipper Critters offers a totally new gameplay experience which makes use of all of the DS's innovative capabilities, including the touch screen and microphone.

Zsolt Kigyossy, the managing director of Zen Studios, says, "Since we announced that Flipper Critters was in development, the response has been fantastic. We've had people from all over the world contacting us, asking for more information about the game as well as artwork, graphics and movies, showing the game in action. We decided that the best way to let people see how the game is shaping up would be to create a dedicated website, where we could share the latest screenshots, character information and designs from the game. Flipper Critters is currently nearing completion for a release in early 2006. Zen Studios and their exclusive business agent Flashman Studios are currently looking for publishers interested in bringing this fast-paced family game to market.
