Mailbag - Issue 5
When are Wario Ware Twisted and Electroplankton releasing in Europe? What's the deal on Pokon Diamond & Pearl? Find out more inside!
Good question, it could be June 16th, it could be July 7th, who knows? At E3 Nintendo of Europe will determine the remaining dates for 2006.
FireGalaxy:According to Nintendo-Europe's website, both are currently TBD (unknown). We'll let you know as more news (on these games) come in. Wait for E3 and all shall be revealed.
Thanks
PS Great site. Keep the good work up.
Aside from Wisdom Tree's Bible Adevntures - which doesn't admittedly feature any actual Easter content - I can't think of any. I know there's been a few Sants themed games over the years, but Easter's been a bit left out.
Jay:Ummm... Easter? Well given that Japanese people don't even celebrate it, I doubt it. But I heard NOA did something with Animal Crossing this year.
FireGalaxy:I don't think there were any Easter themed games released this year; many video game companies just don't think that Easter themed games will sell.
But you can always check out Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg. Even though it's been out for quite a while, the game is actually quite good. I'd really reccomend it if you haven't played it or if you want to buy it as a gift for someone else.
No, I'm sorry. Neither a releasedate nor any other information is known.
Jay:I'm assuming you mean the RPGs that will be based off the traditional formula, Pokon Diamond and Pearl. Well sadly aside from a few new Pokon being revealed since they will be in the upcoming movie, Nintendo has been very silent on the game. However, Game Freak has no been working on anything else known to the public since Drill Dozer so I imagine it's only a matter of time now. I actually would be surprised if it even showed up at E3, but have no doubt we'll find out more by TGS. So until then you will have to settle with Pokon Mysterious Dungeon Rescue Force & Pokon Ranger because even if the game does make it out in Japan by the end of the year, you know it'll also take time to come out in other countries. My advise to you is not to expect the game until at least 2007.
FireGalaxy:I don't think there's been much information on Pokon DS for a while, but wait for E3. I'm sure more news will be revealed on the Diamond and Pearl versions for the DS.
I wouldn't hold your breath. Crystal Chronicles has been all but confirmed, but I doubt we'll be seeing the numbered series leaving the PlayStation after the huge sales for FFXII. It's not like there's one storyline or battle mode that characterises the series though, so I'm sure you'll see the same level of quality in FF games for the Revolution.
Malte:I doubt this. The FF(insert number) series is only planned for PlayStation-like systems. As someone from SquareEnix once said, it would be sad to see only ported games on project Revolution. An online game like Final Fantasy CC is also great.
Jay:I very much doubt that Sony would let Square-Enix move the numbered series so easily even though it's not really upto them, really I doubt Square will just change consoles when Sony is offering them exactly what they like for the series, disk space and powerful technology. I mean sure Square-Enix might have some ideas for the Revolution controller just like they got the idea of making a basketball game on the DS, but that and maybe a Dragon Quest spin-off if Nintendo is lucky is all I'd expect to see Square-Enix put on the Revolution.
FireGalaxy:I'm really split on this decision. However much I'd love to see a numbered Final Fantasy game on the Revolution, there's quite a chance there won't be one. Since the Revolution brings a new way to play, I'm sure Square Enix will create a new game (or possibly a new franchise) that takes use of the Revolution well. However, with the numbered games being more RPG oriented, this might not be what Square Enix wants (to bring over a numbered FF game on the Revolution). Hopefully, however, Square Enix will take the chance and make a numbered FF game on the Revolution. Stay tuned at DS-x2 for the goings on at E3 and we'll be sure to post any information that has to do with the Revolution, DS and GBA (this includes Final Fantasy!). I love every Final Fantasy game though, and I wouldn't be extremely unhappy if they did not bring over a numbered FF. Personally, I'd like to see a non-numbered FF and a numbered FF for the Revolution, if possible.
Didn't we get the same question a few weeks back? It's all looking very much like it'll be November, but I'm sure we'll find out at E3 in just over 2 weeks...
Malte:I'd guess November 17th or 24th, but don't take this as a fact, it's pure speculation.
Matt:From what I've heard sometime around November... But I don't know the real date.
FireGalaxy:There was something like this in a previous mailbag, you may want to check that out for more details. However, I believe the rumors are pointing to a November release date. Stay tuned for more information at E3.
