GunPey Rebirth

The popular puzzler GunPey will return... On the Nintendo DS.

The Japanese idol Tetsuya Mizuguchi (ex-Sega employee) revealed that after working on Lumines and Meteos, Q Entertainment is working on GunPey Rebirth for Sony's PSP and the Nintendo DS.

The game is currently set for a release in Japan this Autumn.

  Really hoping they can make the first PSP VS. NDS game. They are both running on wi-fi, it shouldn't be that difficult to make a game that can connect 2 consoles. 2 obsticles are in the way: Sony won't like the idea and PSP's disc loading time will slow down NDS's hardware read in a link game.

  GunPey "the game" is dedicated to Gunpei Yokoi, because it was developed by the guys of his company (later acquired by Bandai) that invented with him the Wonderswan handheld console. It is a puzzle game. Weird that now it will be featured in two consoles not invented by Gunpei himself, maybe they should port that for Game Boy too.

  I think that it is good that they are honoring his name this way after firing him for creating the virtual boy. I mean he created the game boy which eventually evolved into the ds which more or less saved Nintendo's image and paved the way for the unique control that the Wii is bringing.
